What is General Counsel?
Business professionals understand the value of maintaining an on-going relationship with counsel. Counsel will help draft, review, and negotiate contracts, advise you on legal problems and questions, and if you become involved in a dispute, handle negotiations and/or litigation. If your new venture requires more specialized services, we bring in and manage other professionals on your behalf. Outside General Counsel should provide an efficient and cost-effective "one-stop shop" to manage all of your legal needs while you focus on your business venture
A full range of general counsel services, including:
• business formation, mergers, and acquisitions
• partnership agreements and disputes
• commercial contracts and disputes
• real estate agreements and disputes
• employment agreements and disputes
• debt collections
Should My Business Retain General Counsel?
When considering litigation as a business owner, you should be aware your options. In addition to the courtroom, there are other forums that might be appropriate, depending on the specific needs of the business. Settlement negotiations and/or mediation may be a desirable alternative to litigation. Or, if the amount at issue is low, small-claims court may be another venue for an owner to consider. A business contemplating bringing or defending a lawsuit would be well served by consulting with a law firm that specializes in small business litigation to better understand all of the legal options.
